Localism Bill Have Your Say March 1st 2011 at the South Wingfield Social Club 2.00pm till 7.00m
As you will be aware the new Government has now published the Localism Bill, which will lead to significant changes to the way in which Development Plans are produced. Amber Valley Borough Council is embracing this and talking to our residents about where they live. From 1st February we will be running a series of events to explain the changes that will be happening and help us establish the current and future issues in the area . We would like people to tell us what they think and we will be asking if we have identified the right issues for local communities following our initial consultation in 2008.
We want to take a new approach that starts with local communities and builds its policies from the bottom up rather than the top down.
Before drawing up new proposals, we want local communities to tell us about their areas:
* What's good and what's not so good
* What local communities are proud of and what needs to be improved
* What local communities would like to change and what they would like to stay the same
* What local communities would like their area to look like in 5, 10, 15 years
We would like to involve as many people as possible and would welcome your help to publicise the event in your ward. We would also like to invite you to come along to the event and talk about the issues.
Events have been arranged in the following locations with a focus on the wards and /or parishes in brackets but anyone will be welcome to talk about any area at the events starting at 2pm and finishing at 7pm:
